Swan Pub Quiz – this has been rescheduled to Sunday 25th August 7pm. The Swan are kindly donating monies from the quiz to Green Wedmore. Please go along and support, make up a team (up to 6 people) £2 each (cash). Please book tables in advance directly with The Swan.

Freecycle – 22nd September, 10am at Village Car Park

Repair Café – booked for Saturday 26 October, 10am Village Hall.

Update received from Emily.

Sunlit Solar: up to 94 installations complete, 605kW of capacity Blackford Village Hall install is now complete. Thank you to Sunlit for their recent donations. Huge achievement – very nearly at 100! A presentation event at IOW Bowls Club is in the diary for 10th September. All welcome.

Sunlit are also working with Wedmore Village Farm to install a solar pump.

Eel conference will take place on 05 July at the Red Brick, Glastonbury.

ADAPTATION

The new woodland at Wedmore Village Farm is coming along well with over 250 saplings now planted.

RESILIANCE

The Wedmore Village Farm continues to grow. With successful funding for solar, and the plan to renovate the old wind turbine. The farm is now registered as a Care Farm on their portal.

Veg is now being sold at the honesty box. Some work needed on payment system. Possibility of selling some trees too. Work begins on the solar very shortly. New yurt to arrive soon for the campsite. Possibility of installing a woodburner to the building ready for winter.

Sad news that Bob Hayter has passed away, his funeral was this week. Bob was very invested in the Wedmore Community Power Co-op, and was chairman for a time.

Steve discussed the key role of Somerset Wildlife Trust in terms of advocacy for nature and the climate emergency.
